As we enter February, I want to remind you of the powerful role parents, guardians, and other adult loved ones play in their children’s success at school. The support you provide at home lays the foundation for learning that lasts well beyond the elementary years, and simple, consistent routines—such as ensuring your child gets enough sleep, arrives at school on time, and has a quiet place to complete homework or read—help children come to school ready to learn. Taking time to talk with your child about their day, asking what they learned, and encouraging curiosity sends a clear message that school matters and that effort is valued.

Rosemead, California: The Rosemead School District is pleased to announce its Open Enrollment Campaign for the 2026-2027 school year. The District is inviting those interested in enrolling their school-age children in the Rosemead School District schools. The District offers full-day classes for our Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs, in addition to hosting

Dear Rosemead Families and Community,

Last week, law enforcement activities near some of our schools caused concern among parents and staff. While the activities were related to normal, non-emergency operations by our law enforcement partners, I want you to know that those concerns are heard, respected, and taken seriously.

First and foremost, I want to reassure you that our schools remain safe, welcoming, and secure learning environments for every child. The law enforcement presence in the community was related to routine activities, and I, along with our Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, were in communication with our Temple City Sheriff Station partners during the activities.

The Rosemead School District invites all new DLI parents to attend the informational meetings in person on January 21 at 6:00 pm, January 26 at 6:00 pm, or January 27 at 8:15 am at Encinita, or via Zoom.

Dear Rosemead Families and Community,

I hope you had a restful three-day weekend. I am always trying to look for renewed meaning in events, and as I reflect on the meaning of Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday in the context of our shared goal to raise smart and healthy students, I am reminded that Dr. King’s legacy lives not only in our schools and public institutions, but most powerfully in our homes and communities. Our parents play a central role in shaping the values, beliefs, and civic character of the next generation. The conversations you have at the dinner table, the questions you encourage your children to ask, and the examples you set through your own actions all help shape who they become as thinkers, citizens, and neighbors. Now, more than ever, our children need role models who live the values that Dr. King preached.
